The Otter Street Fishing Club
Dedicated to the “betterment of fishing” on Lake Winnebago since 1961.
The sole purpose of the non-profit organization as written in Section III (A) of the club’s bi-laws is the “betterment of fishing on the Lake Winnebago system.” To fulfill that purpose, the O.S.F.C. raises money by holding multiple events each year. In addition to our events, we also use membership dues and donations to meet funding needs. We rely heavily on our members and volunteers to make sure our events are a success.
Our major fundraiser of the year is the annual walleye tournament, which is held on Father’s Day weekend each year. The Walleye Tournament has evolved over the course of many years, and is now a joint tournament between our Club and Battle on Bago. We have grown the tournament and are proud to say that as of 2014, it was the largest in the nation in number of boats attended. Every angler that fishes the tournament pays a conservation fee that is added to their entry fee. Every dollar raised has gone back to the betterment of fishing by funding projects. Our Winter Fisheree, Wild Game Feed and Member’s Banquet are also very important events that make up the total money raised each year for funding various projects and operating costs. All four events are held annually; our Winter Fisheree is held in late January-early February, the Wild Game feed is typically held in late March and our Member’s Banquet is put on in May. Every event we put on is made successful by our dedicated volunteers, Club Members, sponsors and those who choose to participate and donate. We look forward to many more years of continued success in this community.
